Once athletes win during the regular season, they're not eligible to be back on the ballot until the postseason. If athletes haven't won in the regular season, they can be nominated more than once. Here are this week's Girls Athlete of the Week candidates: Ruby Bartok, Danville softball: Had five hits in eight at-bats spanning three games, including four home runs and nine RBIs. Ryleigh Brown, Liberty Union softball: Went 7 for 9 with four doubles, two home runs, and a triple in three games, all wins. Marlee Gerhardt, Watkins Memorial softball: Hit a grand slam as a part of a four-hit, seven-RBI day in a 16-11 victory over Teays Valley. Abby Herren, Centerburg softball: Went 8 for 10 in three games with four doubles and a home run. Her .867 average for the season led the state according to MaxPreps. Addi Hulshof, Olentangy softball: Went 8 for 14 in four games with seven RBIs, two home runs, and two doubles. Elliott Long, Westerville Central softball: Pitched all 14 innings in two wins with a total of 24 strikeouts, no walks, and only one earned run. Mycah Massey, Pickerington Central softball: Led the Tigers during a 3-1 week in batting average (.538), doubles (three), triples (two), and RBIs (eight), and also had a home run with a 1.308 slugging percentage. Anjanae Woods, Whitehall Yearling flag football: In two games, rushed for 148 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries and had 25 receptions for 290 yards. Vote in the article link.
